I have been an English teacher since 1989.

My hobbies are reading, gaming, and skiing.

I am making things with my hands and I like to cook.
Tell me about yourself.
I came to Japan in 1989. I loved the country and the people, and have stayed here ever since.
I opened ETH in 1999. I wanted to make a school that if I was a parent I would want to join.
What do you like about working at ETH?
I like the at home feeling and the hard work that the teachers provide.
I hope that many people can come and join us. We are waiting for you!!

1989年に来日。日本という国や人々に恋をし、それ以来ずっと住んでいます。もし自分が親であったなら、こんな学校に参加したいと思う学校を作りたく、ETHを1999年に設立しました。
ETHで働く上で好きな所:
アットホームな環境で講師達が一生懸命働く姿勢です。たくさんの方々が私たちに参加して下さることを願っています。お待ちしています！！

I am from Himeji.
How long have you been an English teacher?
I have been an English teacher since 2002.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are travel, watching movies, reading books and challenging something new!
What are you good at?
I am good with children.
Tell me about yourself.
I lived in Vancouver Canada for three and a half years. I was a daycare teacher there. I explored new things every day, and enjoyed different culture and customs. I also learned salsa dancing! (That was fun!! ) Through salsa, I met so many good friends from all over the world. Thanks to English I still keep in touch with them : ) The experiences have made me who I am today.
What do you like about working at ETH?
English Tree House is at home environment where teachers, students and their families enjoy communicating.
Lots of smiles and laughter. Teachers work so hard to achieve our goals which I am so proud of.

自分について:
カナダのバンクーバーに3年半在住経験あり。現地の保育園で保育士として勤務しました。毎日が新鮮で新しい物事や異なる文化や風習を楽しみました。サルサというラテンダンスも習いました。サルサを通して、世界中のたくさんの友達を作ることができ、今でも連絡を取り合っています。これらの経験は今日の私という人間を作ってくれるものとなりました。
ETHで働く上で好きな所:
ETHは、講師、生徒、そしてその家族がコミュニケーションをとることを楽しんでいるとてもアットホームな所です。たくさんの笑顔と笑い声がいつもあります。そして、私たち講師が同じゴールに向かって一生懸命働いていることをとても誇りに思います。

Where are you from?
I was born in Warwickshire, UK – famous for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare! – but spent most of my life living in the north of England.
When and why did you come to Japan?
I decided I wanted to live in Japan after reading 1Q84 by Murakami Haruki and I arrived in August 2018!
What are your hobbies?
I have a lot! My main hobbies are reading and writing, but I also enjoy video games, watching documentaries and traveling.
What are you good at?
Studying.
Tell me about yourself.
Before I came to Japan, I was a student but also worked various part time jobs with the local council. This was mainly during events like classical music concerts at the local theatre, but I also worked at the polling station during the elections, helped in the finance office, ran an ice-cream stand in the summer months and once as a waitress at an old, spooky castle. My bachelor’s degree is in English Literature and my master’s degree is in Modern and Contemporary Literature.
What do you like about working at ETH?
At ETH, we use both traditional materials and technology to help all types of learners succeed. The teaching style has been adapted to appeal to the new generation of students and this innovation ensures English is both accessible and fun. Our unique learning space also allows everyone to grow more confident in their speaking abilities, so that students are prepared for both tests and English conversation in the future.
ベサニー ホリガン
シェイクスピアの生誕の地で有名なウォリックシャー州で生まれました。その後、人生のほとんどをイギリス北部で過ごしました。
村上春樹の1Q84を読んだ後日本に住みたいと思い日本に来ることに決めました。2018年の8月に来日しました。
趣味はたくさんありますが、主に読書とエッセイを書くことです。他には、ゲームをしたりドキュメンタリーを観る事、旅行をする事が好きです。
勉強が得意です！
来日する前は学生でしたが、地元の自治体で様々なアルバイトをしていました。主に地元の劇場でのクラシックコンサートであるなどのイベントで働きましたが、時には選挙期間中に投票場でも働いたり、財務事務所でサポートをしたり、夏季には屋台のアイスクリーム屋さんを運営したりしました。古くて不気味なお城でウェイトレスをした事もありました。学歴面では、英文学の学士号と近現代文学の博士号を持っています。
